Drone Attack on Explosives Manufacturing Plant in Russia

  • Drones struck a plant in Stavropol that produces nitrogen fertilizers.
  • The attack did not cause casualties, but debris from the drones was confirmed to have fallen.
  • The plant manufactures substances used for military purposes.

This was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Ukrinform.

Attack on the Plant in Stavropol

On the night of June 13-14, 2025, drones attacked the Nevinomyssk Azot plant located in the Stavropol region. This plant is one of the largest producers of nitrogen fertilizers and ammonia in Russia.

According to information provided by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the attack occurred in the industrial zone of Nevinomyssk. As a result of the attack, debris from the drones was recorded, but, as confirmed by the governor of the Stavropol region Vladimir Vladimirov, there were no casualties.

Nevinomyssk Azot produces up to one million tons of ammonia and over one million tons of ammonium nitrate annually. These substances are key components for the manufacture of explosives and artillery shells.

Kovalenko noted that the plant also produces melamine, acetic acid, methanol, and potassium nitrate, which have military applications. Since 2024, the plant has started producing water-soluble fertilizers adapted for military chemical applications.

Previous Attacks

This is not the first attack on Russian military facilities. For example, on June 11, drones attacked the Kotivskyi Powder Plant, causing a fire at the facility. Following this strike, the plant ceased operations.
