Destruction of the Humanitarian Hub in Zaporizhzhia Due to Russian Strike

Destruction of the Humanitarian Hub in Zaporizhzhia

In Zaporizhzhia, a humanitarian hub of a non-profit organization that has been providing assistance to those affected by the war since the first days of the full-scale invasion was destroyed due to a morning attack.

This was stated by the head of the organization, Oleksandr Beliukha, who spoke to reporters at the scene.

"Two days ago, we received a shipment of aid, about five trucks with cargo worth 3 million dollars. This is our office, but the most important thing is that no one was hurt," he said.

He noted that the fire damaged equipment that had been purchased under a loan: vehicles, three electric cars, diesel forklifts, and generators.

The team of the NGO "BELUGA UA" has been working since 2022.

According to the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, at least 15 multi-story buildings, private homes, non-residential structures, and premises were damaged as a result of the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia.

Currently, experts are continuing to inspect the damaged facilities, while municipal services are trying to eliminate the aftermath of the attack as soon as the situation allows.

It was previously reported that as a result of the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia on Saturday morning, three people were injured.

Destruction of Humanitarian Aid Cargo

In another instance, the warehouse that stored at least one hundred tons of humanitarian aid was also destroyed as a result of the attack. The city had received five trucks loaded with humanitarian aid.

It is known that all 100 tons of aid were destroyed in the fire, with damages estimated at 3 million US dollars.

On the night of June 13 to 14, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with 14 Shahed-type drones. As a result of the attack, two law enforcement officers were injured, and civil infrastructure and vehicles were damaged.
