Financial Changes at Vorskla After Relegation
The vice president of Poltava's Vorskla, Oleg Lysak, commented on the financial changes at the club following their drop to the First League. After losing in the playoff matches against FC Kudrivka, the team left the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) for the first time in its history.
Player Salaries in the First League
Lysak noted that the new salary level for the team will be approximately $2,000-$3,000 per month. This amount includes a bonus system.
“This will allow us to confidently say that we should return to the UPL next year,” he stated.
Average Salaries in the UPL
During their time in the UPL, Vorskla players earned an average salary ranging from $8,000 to $10,000. In some cases, the amounts were higher or lower, depending on the players' merits.
“Younger players earn less, again, there’s a bonus system for starting appearances, goals scored, and assists,” Lysak added.
Financial Challenges for the Club
Lysak also emphasized that no club can exist without sponsorship support. To stabilize its financial situation, Vorskla will need to conduct sales amounting to up to two million dollars.
Vorskla finished the 2024/25 season in 13th place in the UPL, accumulating 27 points, and is now preparing for a new challenge in the First League.
