On June 13, 2025, Israel conducted unprecedented strikes against Iran, targeting its nuclear program and military leaders. The operation, named "Developing Lion," aims to stop what Israel claims is Tehran's rapid progress in developing nuclear weapons.

Among the targets were major enrichment facilities in Natanz and, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "the heart of the Iranian ballistic missile program." He stated that the operation would continue "as long as necessary" to eliminate the nuclear threat from Iran.

Iran's Response to the Strikes

Following Israel's attacks, Iran initiated strike operations in retaliation, resulting in at least three deaths and numerous injuries. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned that Israel would face "serious punishment" for these attacks.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that "Tehran will burn" if Iran continues to bombard Israeli territories. Reports indicate that Iranian air defense systems have already been activated in response to potential new attacks from Israel.

Closure of Iran's Airspace

In light of the escalating conflict, Iran has closed its airspace "until further notice." State media reported that all flights in the country have been suspended to ensure passenger safety.
