Tess Daly and Others Receive Awards from the King

Tess Daly, a television presenter, was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her contributions to television. She became well-known for her work on the show Strictly Come Dancing since 2004.
Daly shared that she learned about the award only thanks to a kind person who helped her receive a letter that had originally been sent to the wrong address. She expressed that it was a huge surprise for her.
Among other distinguished individuals who were honored were David Beckham, Gary Oldman, and Roger Daltrey. Beckham received a knighthood for his contributions to sports and charity, while Oldman was recognized for his contributions to drama.
Beckham, the former captain of the England national team, noted that he could never have imagined receiving such an honor. Oldman, who won an Oscar for his role as Winston Churchill, also expressed his admiration for the award he received.
Among those receiving damehoods were musical theater singer Elaine Paige and writer Pat Barker. The awards are presented annually in honor of the king's birthday and are chosen by committees based on nominations.
In total, more than 1200 individuals received awards for their achievements, including those recognized for dedicating their time to public service.
