G7 Summit in Canada
On June 17, 2025, a working session titled "A Strong and Sovereign Ukraine" is scheduled to take place at the G7 summit in Kanaskis, Canada. This session will include invited leaders from countries outside the G7 member states.
Summit Agenda
According to the summit agenda, four working sessions for G7 leaders will be held on June 16, covering topics such as "Global Economic Outlook," "Economic Growth, Security, and Resilience," "Safe Communities," and "A Safer World."
The opening on June 17 will feature an official welcome for invited leaders, followed by a working breakfast focused on Ukraine. This will be followed by the final session of the summit, a lunch on "Energy Security," and a press conference by the summit chair.
Invitation for Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he received an invitation to the summit. During the event, discussions will focus on issues related to the imposition of sanctions against Russia to reduce its war capabilities.
Support from International Partners
The White House has confirmed preparations for separate bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit, which are expected to include the leaders of G7, as well as the presidents of Brazil, Mexico, and Ukraine.
